Mabie Overview

Mabie Forest, the original mountain biking venue in the south west of Scotland.

Mabie lies just a few miles south of Dumfries and caters for beginners right through to the most expert of riders.

The Trails

Mabie forest is strikingly beautiful and has something for everyone - with a skills area, cafe, bike hire and shop on site it has everything you could need for a great day's riding.

A skills area with different-graded trails gives a taste of Mabie riding for those new to the area or looing to move up a trail grade. It also includes a fantastic 300m freeride line with plenty of sections for you to practise your jumping technique.

Choose your trail from:

The green-graded Big Views and the blue-graded Woodhead loop

A great introduction to mountain biking and Mabie's striking surroundings.

The forest road Purple Trail - Lochbank Loops

A mixture of forest road and some b-class public road. Worth the climb for the spectacular views.

The red-graded Phoenix Trail

A classic mountain bike route - great riding through mixed woodland and wonderful scenery.

Turn to the Dark Side

An orange bike park-graded trail. Mostly on narrow elevated wooden "North Shore" sections and spiced with outcrops of granite, it is firmly for the experts.
